Church, Jesus and stuff.

Sorry folks - This blog entry is now gone!

It will, however, reappear as a chapter in Mags' book when the time comes.

  1. Great stuff Mags, was thinking a little about some of this stuff yesterday, so much bunk out their and if we are not careful we will be known more for what we are against than what we are for! In all the 'Deconstruction' (Makes me laugh that does LOL) Let's not forget to honor His Body, respect fellowship and recognize the Glory in each other. Love you Mags.... DAVE

  4. We shared this in our little group this morning Mags - all enjoyed it tremendously. You could have been writing about us. We had a good chuckle. Your words were succulent, most especially:
about the Gospel: 'Our belief in the gospel is that we can, by simple attention turn our gaze onto him.' With everything else seemingly up for question, that's still a secure base on which to anchor.
About the church: 'No church model will produce God’s life. It works the other way around. Our life in God, shared together, expresses itself as the church. It is the overflow of his life in us. If we believed that little gem we wouldn’t keep trying to find better models.'
So very well put, Magsie, and so comforting to read and to hear. THANK YOU XXXXX

  5. Great articulation of truth and we get there when life (God really) brings us to the end of ourselves. If we are living in the truth and knowing who we are in Christ (Gal: 2.20)then none of this matters. We trust Him (the I AM )to bring it all together anyway. Hard watching the struggling and striving around us but we can't change that either. It's God's business, we can only intercede for them but it gets real exciting when we begin to see those prayers answered.

  6. Mags your blog is right on. It is so true some of us think that the grass is always greener on the other side. Then we find out the church we left was where we were suppose to be to begin with. We can't go around chasing after rainbows and wearing rose color glasses. God is the answer and always will be. Not man, woman, or anything else will change that. We need to look to him for guidance, faith, strength, love, truth, etc.....
